ICC CULTURAL FIESTA 29-1-2010 The Managing Committee of ICC is immensely pleased to inform all Honorable ICC members that, ICC is all set to celebrate countries 61st Republic day by staging colorful cultural entertainments which this year titled "Cultural fiesta" at Doha cinema on Friday, 29th January 2010. The proposed cultural fiesta will have variety events, which will be mainly portraying the richness and diversity of the Indian cultural heritage in the form of a colorful event. Also items which represent multi-cultural dimensions of different states in India will also be presented at the venue. The event is organized with the support and active participation of Indian schools and various socio-cultural organizations which are affiliated to the ICC. 20 organizations including 4 schools have confirmed their participation's. As usual a souvenir will also be brought out to commemorate the occasion. H.E Mrs Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, Ambassador of India has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest on the occasion. Padmashree Shri Syed Kirmani (Former Indian cricketer) and many others Qatari dignitaries and Ambassadors of various countries will also grace the occasion. The gate opens at 5:30pm and the function starts 6:00pm. The venue is open to all members of the Indian community. You are cordially invited along with your family and friends. ____________________________________________________________________________________ 25th January 2010 ICC lines up musical contest The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) which functions under the aegis of Indian Embassy in Qatar is all set to stage its annual musical competition, ICC-VIP Music Talent Search-2010 at the Premises of ICC on 4th,5th &6th February 2010 from 4pm to 10pm. It is part of our commitment to provide avenues to budding artists and adults to nurture their inborn artistic talents, said an ICC spokesman. The competition will be held for various categories such as Vocal (Classical, light & western) and Instrumental music. All competitors will be segregated into Junior, Senior and adult based on their age. The terms and conditions applicable to the contest are stipulated in the entry forms which are available at ICC and in the Indian Schools. The competition is open to Indian nationals, for both children and adult. The last date to enroll the names for competition is 01/02/2010 up to 21 hours. The winners and runner-ups will be awarded with trophies and certificates in a public function and if time permits winners from few category will be performing in the function. The programme schedule covering the whole competition will be displayed at ICC on 03/02/2010 Gulf Incon which markets VIP brand suitcases and luggage have been the sponsor of this popular event since the commencement of this contest by ICC and this year also they are supporting the event, says the ICC press release. The whole competition will be completed in 4 days, 14th January to 17th January 2010. The competitors in the matches will be categorized on the basis of contestant's age. The details of events and rules applicable to each category are available in the prescribed Entry Form which can be obtained from ICC reception counter, our website and at various schools in Qatar. The winners and runner-ups of each category will be awarded with prizes and will also be honored at a public function of ICC by presenting them with trophies and ICC certificates. The last date for receiving the entry forms at ICC is at 10.00 pm on the of 11th January 2010. The final fixtures of the entire tournament will be displayed at ICC notice board on 13th January 2010. ICC - New Location The Indian Cultural Centre has shifted to a new location on the Doha Express way connecting Medical Commission roundabout ot D-ring Road. The New building is a two storey building with approximately 1400sqm. The new premises has four banquet halls each with a capacity to accomodate nearly 120 people at a time. It will also have a health club, Library, TV viewing Hall, managing committee office and additional five rooms for various activities. Additional to this an open area, a restarurant and a hall with a seating capacity of 400 persons is being planned as well.
